The third "C" of the "3 C's" is Commit to the Church. Our third purpose is to be committed to the church through giving, participating in Sunday School & Worship, and serving.

Blockbuster Sundays

August 15, 22, 29

We want to have a great beginning to our new year of ministry and outreach to the city of Columbia and beyond.  So we are calling the first three Sundays (August 15, 22, 29) of our new year Blockbuster Sundays.  Here’s the deal: in order to truly have Blockbuster Sundays, everyone get involved in the following three things:  reaching others for Christ, giving sacrificially for the ministry of Christ, and attending both Worship and Sunday School. 

REACH

  • Pick up some “invite” cards at the Ministry Stations and Welcome Centers.  These cards are great tools to extend a casual invitation to someone you just met or have known for a while.
  • Grab a few "Plan of Salvation" tracts at the Ministry Stations. These tracts clearly explain how someone can become a Christian.  It is great to be prepared for you never know when you could have the opportunity to share Christ with someone. 
  • Call and invite the guests who have visited or been assigned to your Sunday School class to join you for these three Sundays.

GIVE

ATTEND

The beginning of the school year is a great time to recommit to faithful and regular church attendance and participation.  We believe that attending both the Worship Service and a Sunday School class make a complete experience at Shandon.

  • We encourage you to make every effort to be in Sunday School and help your community get off to a great start.
  • If you haven't joined a Sunday School community, now's the time to jump in! Contact Brandon Petersen, Minister of Education (782-1300 x114), or visit the Welcome Center on Sunday morning, and we'll help you find a class where you can grow in your faith alongside others in similar life stages.
  • Join us for 10am or 11:30am worship. Come anticipating to hear from God through music and the preaching of His Word. Pastor Lincoln will be wrapping up our summer-long New Testament Survey with a 3-part series on Revelation.

Lights, camera, ACTION… and action is the key word for our Blockbuster Sundays.  Let’s make August 15, 22, and 29 three tremendous Sundays for our new year!
