Church Wide Prayer Rally

I love the church!  I love the people that make up the church, I love the mission of the church and I love the purpose of the church. 2018 will be a year that God does great things in and through Shandon Baptist Church. One of the things that we want to lean into more in this new year is prayer.

Would you like to experience the power of effective praying?

Would you like to lock hearts with believers coming before the Lord on behalf of others?

Would you be willing to stretch yourself in order to experience the power of prayer?

The world around us needs someone to come alongside them to be an encourager and protector. You may not have the finances or time to help at the level that you would like but as a praying believer, we can offer so much more than just finances and time. Too often we feel that prayer is a poor offering when the need is so great, but what more could anyone ask for than to have someone storming heaven on their behalf in prayer?!

Our church will send hundreds of people around the world for the cause of Christ in 2018. We will see thousands of people pass through our doors for Worship, Bible Study, Fellowship and Community. With this opportunity, we need the covering of a praying church more than ever! Prayer is the catalyst for God to do what only He can do!

We hope in this New Year to have regular times of prayer and I want you to be part of it! This Wednesday night, February 7 at 5:55 in the Chapel we will meet to do exactly that. We will give you a couple of tools that you can use to tap into the Prayer Ministry here, as well as some tools to corporately pray together when you are here on Wednesday. I hope you’ll join us in the Chapel Wednesday night! Be on time so you don’t miss a minute!

Let’s expect God to move!

Be Part of Christmas at Shandon!

These are always exciting days as we anticipate the Christmas Season here at Shandon!  Take a look!

Singing Christmas Tree – Dec 8 at 7:00 pm/Dec 9 at 2:30/5:30 pm/Dec 10 at 2:30/5:30 pm

The Singing Christmas Tree has been voted as one of the must see Christmas events in the Midlands according to The State newspaper.  Make sure you are using this as an inviting event for those around you who need to hear the Gospel this season!  Free tickets are available here at the church or online at

Christmas Memorial Service - December 17 at 6:00 pm in the Worship Center

Christmas can be one of the greatest family times of the year but for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one, this season can be one of pain and heartache.  We want to reach out as a church to the families of those that have experienced loss and express the love that we know in Jesus Christ.  If you have lost a loved one and would like their name mentioned in this service, please send that information to Lee Hutson at

Christmas Eve Service – December 24 at 10:00 am/3:00 pm/ 5:00 pm

This year we will have 3 identical Christmas Eve services blending the worship of both of our services around the beautiful songs of the Christmas season.  We will be putting together a special choir for each of these services so if you would like to be part, please email Scott Lee at and we will schedule you for any or all of these services.  We will have one rehearsal in preparation for this choir.  If you’ve never tried a choir, now is the time!

It seems that each year builds to the climax of the Christmas season!  We are so looking forward to sharing it with you and to the great city we’ve been called to serve.  Do you love your neighbors, coworkers, classmates and family enough to invite them to come with you to any or all of these events?  I’m confident that God is going to use this season in an incredible way for His glory!
