Children's Auditions for The Singing Christmas Tree

main image

Dear Parents,

Preparation for The  Singing Christmas Tree is almost upon us, and I wanted to let you know I have a few special roles open for children! I am holding auditions for these specific roles THIS Sunday, September 25 from 2pm-3pm in Room A223 (WAC & Children's Choir hallway).

We are looking for 15 children in grades 2nd-6th  with energy and musical ability!

If your child would like to audition, please prepare them to sing a few lines of a song of their choice. We may run through a few additional exercises.

I'm looking forward to hearing your children and helping them enjoy their audition experience, whether it's their first audition or they're a seasoned pro! Auditions are a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow and for some, to overcome their fears! I LOVE being a part of that!

If you have any questions, please contact Rachel Rizzuti, the Children's Choir Coordinator. I look forward to seeing your child(ren) on Sunday!

Honoring Our First Responders

This past Sunday was the 15th anniversary of September 11, and we  thought the best way to remember the lives lost and honor the heroes of that terrible day was to honor our own local heroes!

We were humbled to have the opportunity in both worship services to recognize, thank, pray for and give a gift to these men and women who put their lives in danger each and every day to serve and protect our community. Representatives  were present from:

  • Columbia Police Department
  • Columbia Fire Department
  • Forest Acres Police
  • South Carolina State Troopers
  • Richland County Sheriff's  Department

To honor and thank them, Shandon Baptist Church gave a donation to the fund of their choice.

"What was meant for evil on Sept 11, 2001 has turned into a day that brought a nation together. Today we remembered the loss, thanked and cherished our first responders in our city, and prayed for our nation."
