Even Greater Update

main image

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 1:3-6

One of the joys of my job here at Shandon is seeing the faithfulness of our great God THROUGH YOU in the area of financial giving.  Shandon has always had a legacy of generosity, and this has certainly been evident through our EVEN GREATER initiative.  We are partnering together over the next two years to cover our budgeted ministry expenses, fund improvements in our Worship Center, and reduce our mortgage debt.

The last weekend of March, we not only celebrated Dr. Lincoln's 38 years of ministry at Shandon and retirement, but we also took out first big step in reducing our mortgage debt with a $1 million payment to the bank.  What a great day in the life of our church!

This could not have happened without the sacrificial giving of our Shandon family.  I am so grateful for those who are have stepped out in faith and grown in generosity this year – not only for the financial results, but knowing that this is a work of the Lord in your lives.

If you are not yet participating in EVEN GREATER, I’d like to encourage you to join us.

  1. Make an EVEN GREATER commitment.
We invite you to join us in this faith endeavor! Learn more at shandon.org/evengreater.
  2. Start giving.
Maybe you’ve pledged but haven’t yet given toward that commitment. I invite you to experience what so many have already--God's faithfulness as we are faithful to fulfill our commitments to Him.  You can easily give online here.

You can also visit the kiosk in the Gathering Place to find out more about EVEN GREATER or feel free to contact me directly at 782-1300 or if you have any questions.

Thanks again for your amazing generosity and love for our church.

God bless,

Buster Whitlock
