Introducing the New Minister on Staff!

main image

Dear Shandon Family,

I am very excited to share with you about an upcoming transition that will take place at the first of the year.

David Taylor will be transitioning from the College Ministry to serve as the Minister of Evangelism and Missions. Pastor Lincoln, David and I have been praying and talking through this transition for the past couple of months. This was difficult only because David has done such a terrific job as our College Minister for the last 7 years. We have been blessed to have David and his wonderful family here at Shandon, and I am super excited we get to keep them here as he takes on this new role. David brings to his new role passion, excitement, and new ideas when working with our guest services and our evangelism and missions efforts. Please welcome David into this new position.

I'm also excited to announce Billy Judge will become our new College Minister on January 1. Billy graduated from USC with his bachelor’s degree in 2012 and his master’s degree in teaching in 2013. Billy felt a call to ministry while in undergraduate school. He has been teaching at Hand Middle School and is currently working on his Master of Divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Billy and his wife Sarah were both members of our college ministry while in school and have continued to serve as adult leaders. Billy has been an integral part of the ministry, mentored by David, and served in various capacities from teaching to on-campus evangelistic efforts to discipling students. We believe that God has well prepared him to step into this role.

This past Sunday we celebrated David's transition to Minister of Evangelism and Missions and welcomed Billy to our ministerial staff as we affirmed his call to serve at Shandon as the College Minister. We look forward to seeing God continue to work through the ministries of our church as David and Billy assume their new leadership roles. Please keep them in your prayers.
