Operation Christmas Child: For Families
This month you can be a part of changing lives through the power of a simple gift.
This year we want to send 2,500 shoe boxes full of gifts and the gospel to children in need. When you pack an Operation Christmas Child shoe box with gifts for a child around the world, so much more goes in it and even more can come out of it.
Filling a shoe box for Operation Christmas Child is a great opportunity to teach your children about giving and selflessness.
Consider packing a shoe box for a child like yours (boy or girl, same age range).
Look at the list of suggested gift items and make your shopping list together, with your child suggesting items that they like.
For older children: give your child a budget and let them help with the shopping.
Download and print a "Let's Be Friends" worksheet for your child to color and complete information about themselves to send with the gifts.
Provide your mailing address or email address in hopes of receiving a letter back from the recipient of your box.
Track your box to find out where it goes.
Will you help? Pick up shoe boxes and labels in the Gathering Place on Sunday mornings (or download printable labels). Boxes are due Sunday, October 26.
