Care & Life Support Ministries

Proclaiming and Presenting HOPE that does not disappoint” (Rom. 5:5)

The Care and Life Support ministries found on these pages are dedicated to being both informational as well as inspirational for the purpose of creating and growing healthy Christian life focus. We believe there is a divine design that can be discovered as a result of participating in these ministries. When that occurs, help and hope that does not disappoint also occurs.

Please feel free to contact our Associate Pastor Barry Gray or Lee Hutson, his administrative assistant, if you have questions about Care and Life Support Ministries.

Weddings and Funerals

Two of the most significant life events are weddings and funerals. Christians usually want to be married and buried in their church. At Shandon we are honored to provide these services for our members. We are only able to accommodate weddings for church members . Funerals for non-members are considered on an individual need basis.

Hospital Visitation

Our church members receive both personal contact and prayer when hospitalized. Visitation from our staff and deacons is routine. Requests for visitation to non-members are received and considered on an individual basis.

DivorceCare and DivorceCare for Kids

DivorceCare seminars and support groups, offered by the Single Adult Ministry, are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. You’ll gain access to valuable DivorceCare resources to help you deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life. DivorceCare for Kids seminars are also available to assist your children through the healing process. Learn more.

GriefShare

The GriefShare class is a weekly seminar and support group designed to help and provide individuals with valuable information about recovering from grief after the death of a loved one. GriefShare will renew hopes for the future.  Call Lee Hutson in the Pastoral Care office for more information about getting involved in future support group sessions. Benevolence

Our church provides short-term financial support for Shandon Baptist members who have demonstrated the need for such care. Financial assistance is evaluated and provided on an individual basis. Our Associate Pastor and Business Administrator oversee this ministry.

Non-members are referred to appropriate outside benevolent organizations that Shandon Baptist contributes to financially for this purpose. We are glad to make these referrals upon request.
