Our 11:30 worship hour brings together worshippers of all generations by putting a strong emphasis on contemporary worship featuring music from today’s most effective artists and worship leaders. We’re blessed to have a tremendously talented band and group of singers that lead us to a place of authentic worship prior to Dr. Lincoln's message.
What to expect
The atmosphere in this service is responsive and engaging and a fit for every age. Modern worship isn't just for college students and young adults. In our modern worship service, you'll see every generation represented, dressed in everything from jeans to suits and ties. Bring a hungry heart, and we believe that through worship and the teaching of God's Word, you'll encounter the living God in a powerful, life-changing way.
The bulletin
Be sure to take a bulletin* from one of the ushers handing them out at the doors to the worship center. Our bulletin is designed to give you important information about what's happening in the life of our church. Use your bulletin to take sermon notes then take it home to stay up to date and connected at Shandon. You can also make your reservations for the Wednesday night meal, Legacy Builders Luncheon for senior adults, and the upcoming Dinner with the Pastor by filling out the tear-off in the bulletin. If it's your first Sunday at Shandon, we encourage you to fill out the Connection Card. We would love to contact you with the information that pertains to you and your family.
The worship service
We encourage you to be an active participant in worship. You can anticipate singing (the words are on the screen), worship through giving (the offering), and a message taught straight from God's Word. From time to time we celebrate baptism and the Lord's Supper. If you have given your heart and life to Jesus Christ, you are invited to particpate in the Lord's Supper--you do not have to be a member of our church or a member of a Southern Baptist Church.
*Because we use the same bulletin for both services, we do not print the Order of Worship.
